Well, it’s a very painful memory I have. Every trick or treat season I brought home what I consider a bounty of chocolate candy that I worked hard to gather through intel from the other neighborhood kids , sometimes pressing my luck by staying out longer than my parents allowed. This was my candy, yet some older sibling always managed to pilfer half of my booty.  |

...my dad had control over the potato chips and the cheese curds. If you behaved yourself and didn't make too much noise during the hockey game, you might get a taste OR, on an especially generous day, a sampling of both! My uncle had a close eye on his dill pickles. I think he counted them because he always knew when we hit his stash. |

Hekler  I have to say that mealtimes were pretty cordial at my home, in the fifties. (20th century) Naturally, there was a "pecking order," but I was pretty satisfied with my allotted portion of the chicken. (I got the neck and gizzard.) "L.D."---Ugh! "Cordial," you say? All I ever got was the bones and "you all" always tried to hit me with `em!  |

Alright, alright. Whenever it was my mothers turn to host a Bunco night with friends we children were herded off to our bedrooms for the evening. But beforehand we were tasked with setting up the card tables and bowls of goodies…..which we were never allowed to sample. Satisfied? |

Hey Larry "L.D." here: Nope. I never "rolled the bones," but I crunched the bones of everything from field mouse, to duck-billed platypus, to old horse. kronk---Yep, We had eclectic taste. "L.D."---Talk about! They even ate animals that had no bones. |
