Well it is certainly great to see that this site is still up and surviving. So much has gone on in life, in the world; and yet, we still have this site as an anchor. I truly wish that I had made more of an effort to keep in touch with everyone here. But I will say, that the majority of my facebook friends are usm members. And though, we don't talk every day, we still keep in touch and we still share a part of each others lives. This site will always be a monumental part of my life. It was here when I needed to vent, when I needed to reach out and connect to others. And I hope that it will still continue to be here for anyone and everyone that needs to make that connection, that needs to reach out into the world and be heard.
I just visited my profile and it says that I have been a member of usm for 20 years now. What a great thing to be a part of. So a little update about myself. I'm getting ready to have my 45th birthday on February 28. Wow...yeah..I'm really that old. My children are all grown up now. My son just turned 25 in January and my daughter will turn 24 in May. I moved from North Carolina, where I lived my entire life, to Oregon in 2015. It was a very hard and trying transition but I am gradually making my way. I have been with Amazon for nearly six years now, at the end of April. Still chugging along and doing that grind. I met the love of my life, my partner, at my current amazon facility more than two years ago. We currently share an apartment here in Oregon and couldn't be happier. I still have a great love for travel and exploration and I try to indulge in this passion as much as time and opportunity will allow.
My partner gifted me a camera for Christmas, which was one of the most thoughtful gifts I've ever received. I plan to travel as much as I can and to photograph and share my journey with others. It's great to see you Release Me! I'll be here 20 years this June. Time really flies doesn't it? I barely recognize the person I was 20 years ago (but to be fair, I was a child). I'm so glad you stopped by to give us an update, and I'm so happy to hear that things are going well with you. Make sure to take care of yourself and don't work too hard! Oh, and Happy Birthday!! Hope you see you again soon.
