...oh sure. It starts out innocently enough with the cows putting out more milk but what happens next? These cows are going to get bored of the same old/same old pastures and start demanding something with a bit more kick. The cows will be playing Grand Theft Tractor ~ Arkansas Moon next and start getting a taste for violence. Cows will start carrying hoofguns and organizing regular stampedes with only thoughts of destruction. Ask yourself: is the extra milk worth all of this? |

...Okay...I just read that comment again and all I could see was the current U.S. government. Who is responsible for allowing these politicians to wear VR headsets?? I WANT ANSWERS! |
Date: 1/20/2022 10:50:00 AM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 5940 Now this really caught me off Guard! No where on your USM profile says anything about you being an animal activist. I always thought your love of animals was at a fast food joint or a bbq. |

Yeah, yeah. You can cry until the cows come home but you confused Ameican politics with a Turkey... |

...I am not an animal activist. I'm more of the recline-and-see-how-it-goes-tivist type. |

...ah yes, the turkey. Once a strong contender for the national bird of America title. |

Well, popular to contrary belief, Ben Franklin had another idea for giving the bird to England which somehow has become a National day of Thanks. The more you know. Tips and gratuity are welcome. |

Hey Larry "L.D." here: Let's be real here, OK? A bovine's "reality" just ain't that great. The poor beasts are either grossly overfed, so they can be quickly turned into pot roast, or, in the case of the milk cow, awakened an an ungodly hour and forcibly deprived of their "opaque white fluid, rich in fat and protein," so that junior can have that with his cookies. Give the poor brutes their goggles and put on some "Pink Floyd," too. Maybe even toss in a few pitchforks full of some "special hay." kronk---Right on, little furry brother! "Ethical" is in "the eyes of the beholder." "L.D."---Yeah! Having me some fun, tonight." (Long Tall Sally, by Little Richard) |
Date: 1/21/2022 5:29:00 AM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 5940 L.D., might I suggest the “Meddle” album in its entirety? Yeah, and follow that with Vivaldi’s “Four Seasons.” |
Date: 1/21/2022 10:28:00 AM From Authorid: 13969 We are teetering dangerous close to the threshold. Where is the distinction between VR goggles and the sunglasses from John Carpenter's 'They Live' - and at one point do we fail to realize we are even wearing them? Cows are not sentient enough to object to the very tool that is designed to comfort them on one side, and also designed to extract maximum utility from them on the other. |
Date: 1/21/2022 11:31:00 AM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 5940 I like the comparison to the movie “ They Live.” I swear you are a “Matrix “ fan. |
Date: 1/21/2022 3:38:00 PM From Authorid: 21435 Sand Ghost Now, that's what I call a "consequential " comment. Always enjoy it when you drop in. I didn't remember the movie, at first, (Happens a lot to me, lately.) so, I searched it up and "sorta" remembered seeing it. I spent some time reflecting on the plot, too. "Burning daylight" is important to me, these days. Thanks for the trigger. |
Date: 1/21/2022 5:24:00 PM From Authorid: 13969 Both movies have thought provoking plots and modified the way I think. It's nice to have this stuff come up organically as it relates to the present day. I appreciate the quality posts |

Hey Larry Man, I hadn't listened to "Meddle" in years. Pink Floyd can go "extremely" heavy. "L.D."---Yeah....He started screaming like a little girl, when the cyclops said "one of these days, I'm going to cut you into little pieces." kronk---Why would "they" throw in such lyrics in a righteously heavy instrumental? "L.D."---You need to change your medicine. kronk---Ugh! |

...I've been doing some deep thinking and I got to wondering how PETA would respond to a new iteration of the Scooby Doo gang. Would the show be panned by PETA because those meddling kids are placing their beloved pet in danger? How does everyone else feel about this? |

Well, I for one would think that Scooby and Shaggy would be promoting a sub sandwich franchise these days using promo clips of them back in the day traveling around the country with other “ Dead Heads”. The Mystery Machine was no mystery. But I digress, PETA would probably have been more upset if Scooby was on a team of sled dogs…… |

...and where was PETA when the Soviets and the Americans were launching dogs, monkeys and tribbles into space? |
Date: 1/26/2022 5:02:00 AM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 5940 The organization known as PETA wasn’t founded until 1980. That came about because Bubbles the Chimp was adopted by Michael Jackson. |

Hekler A couple of years ago, "L.D." turned me in to "PETA" because he said I forced him to answer the door. "They" took him away immediately and said that "they" would treat him right. He escaped a day later and came home with a horror story, saying that "they" tried to feed him tofu, instead of red meat. "L.D."---Yeah! That was UN-ethical treatment! |
Date: 1/26/2022 7:24:00 PM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 5940 Tofu , yuck! That’s made of some substance from The Great White North that still baffles the science community. No telling what part of Ottawa they scraped it from. |
