"The Truth About Monsters"...by Celtic Princess

If it was to be my way,
I would stay ensconced in this
Quiet cottage of aqua blue..
At the edge of
"Between the worlds".

A pale soft rain
Drums on the tin roof.
Curtains drawn tight
Against a too truthful sun.
"I am a day vampire
as you well know".

Sooty black cat
That walks with me in dreams
And stalks the stars
Purrs and guards closely
With slitted topaz eyes
As i live out many lives
In my mountain of books.

I would stay here. Forever.
Leave the sun and sounds
Of cruelty. Of shouting.
Of jeering and rabble crowds
That tear a poet's soul
To shreds in
Their carrion jaws.

And truly I am of
The firm belief
Not ALL monsters
Dwell in the dark.

...Hi CP!

I'm not much of a poetry reader but I really liked this.
I'll go back to my corner now.

Date: 1/19/2022 1:57:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 4995    Thank you guys.I appreciate it. My son took me to a bookstore. I hadn't been in one for many years. He bought me a couple of books by Neil Gaiman and i FINALLY felt inspired to write something other than the sorrow of losing my sister Sage.

I think she would be glad.
And then say..."It's about time you quit moping about me for at least a little while!"

Date: 1/19/2022 5:01:00 PM  From Authorid: 21435    Celtic Princess Yes! We will "always" miss them, true. Let's celebrate our love for them by doing something that we know they'd love. Take care of you and write on.....
