I see all the broken windows,
faded paint on the door,
a rotten smell, and trash on the floor.
cracked walls covered in various types of graffiti,
expansive rooms, all empty...
but you can still see marks on the hardwood,
where the furniture used to be.
This mansion left alone, high on a hill,
Lots of stories told about the grounds,
but no supporting documentation was ever found.
The new owner has yet to be identified,
but the crew has the green light to bring the house back to life,
every hammer swing seems to awaken a forgotten energy,
it wasn't the normal project,
missing tools, mysterious accidents, and unknown screams.
finally, the work was complete.
The owner only spent one night,
he went mad, and ran from the house at mornings first light.
the hulking structure has stood empty ever since,
looking over the valley below,
like it is calling for another soul.
Consider this your warning, don't go.
