You know it would not kill you to not blame me for everything.
It would not kill you to not look for fault in all I do.
If you would stop the accusations and listen when I speak.
It would not kill you to finally see it's about me and not just you.
It would not kill you to treat me as well as you do someone else.
It would not hurt you to finally let me breath.
I am not looking for competition when things are not going right.
And it would not kill me to say what you mean to me.
You might lead me down some dark roads, you may cause my heart to break.
You might torture me with words and not let me walk away.
But I know sometimes it's all because I'm oblivious again.
It would not kill me to tell you that I love you now and then.
It would not kill you to not use the past against me.
It would not kill you to be understanding and a friend.
Don't try to force things to be on just your time and make me feel so numb.
And it would not kill me to get you to try to take it back to where it's been.

Your words got me to thinking. I inserted myself into the idea and came to the realization that on many, many occasions, "It wouldn't have killed me" to do other than what I did do." Way to write it. Write on.....
