The rain is chasing my tail lights
Thunder adding bass to the song I have on
Fighting back the pain pulsing through my eyes
2 in the morning, head swirling
Drowning my thoughts again
But I knew I couldn't succeed
The alcohol adds haze but I needed to try
Killing time and every memory on this drive
Blink of an eye everything passed by
Aged and phased out by everyone
Lost and trying to talk to some being in the sky
But I always knew that lie
Figured I tried
The blame is my own
Its my fault I'm on this road alone
My heart is stuck somewhere between long ago and non-existent
False hope, not wanting to let go
Of something that I haven't got
It's pouring hard, the path ahead like ice
In my hands I'm gripping tight
My chariot seems to have taken flight
But I'm falling in the abyss
Vision impossible
Tasting my blood and the grit of glass in my teeth
The sky lights reveal a pale robe before me
I reach with the last of my strength
Please take me, Im ready to go
But they turn away
Whimpering muffled pleas
Begging them to let this end
But it seems I'm here to suffer
Broken, cold, wet and a failure
Left to try again
