This dream was really interesting in that it involved a lot of familiar faces and songs in it. What I remember of it, I was on a bridge while it was raining and talking with a very upset Dick Van Dyke who looked just as he did in his 1960's show. In the background, I remember hearing Poco's "In the Heart of the Night" and he was venting about something about marital problems and just out of nowhere, he says, "Say, you better get going, aren't you due to be in (I don't remember where but it was on the West Coast of the US)." Apparently, we were somewhere in South America, possibly Argentina or islands off the coast of there.
At this point, the dream shifts to a vector graphic screen (think AutoCAD or late 70s/early 80s very simple graphics) that shows the Earth and where I am in S. America and it rotates to show the California area but the interesting part of this is that while it is doing this, B.W. Stephenson's "My Maria" was playing. The scene shifts again to a rainy day at an airport and me catching a Checker cab with Peter Falk driving... yeah, Columbo.
I think the most interesting aspect of this dream was something that I can't really put into words in that I felt like I was where I was supposed to be at that time. It didn't feel like it was modern times but more like the 1970's or 1980's. It was very comfortable, I guess you could say. How it changed my life:I am guessing that it was just nostalgia that caused it.
