Up way too early on a Sunday morning-
Heeler dog still fast asleep on the couch-
Brain's in hyper drive. More questions forming-
Little piece of some sorta meat for breakfast-
Whiskey bottle in a pouch-
Sweet noise comes out the headphone-
Music makes it even easier to forget.
Things once were, but now they're long gone.
People in the know say, "You ain't seen nothing, yet."
Do not concern yourself; I've only fallen.
You should take my gloves, but leave the mask.
Trumpets blowing; angels calling-
Time to check out, now; I'll leave you to your task.

Date: 8/4/2021 6:50:00 PM  From Authorid: 5940    Now, I’m no poet and my knowledge of English grammar is less than stellar. But I’m gonna take a stab at this and decipher it to my abilities…such as it is.

Up way too early on a Sunday morning? Who does that?

Hekler dog still fast asleep and is a louse. No argument here.

Brain’s in hyper drive, more questions forming. Did they put the cart before the horse?

Lil’ piece of some sorta meat for breakfast. Did you borrow from L.E.D.’s bowl?

Whiskey ina porch, and Hekler is a louse. Point taken.

Sweet noises coming out of the headphone….where are the headphones at?

Music makes it easier to forget…..agreed. Alcohol does the job also.

Things once were but now long gone. That’s a good reason to stay single, just saying.

People magazine says that you ain’t seen nothing yet. Royalties to Bachman Turner Overdrive are in order.

Do not concern yourself. I’ve only fallen. I won’t as long as you get up.

You should take my gloves, but leave the mask. I’m not about to try and explain your diet, ok?

Trumpets blowing, angel’s calling. As long as they don’t get personal I’ll live with it.

Time to check out now and let me bask. Ok, send the bill to the C.E.O. of HeklerCo.

...I'd respond to the nasty spirited oaf above but I'm too busy making a batch of my own "Somebody call an ambulance" hot sauce.

I have to be extremely careful what I touch now that the chilis and scotch bonnets are ready to go. Maybe I should have worn gloves.
This stuff is so potent, you'll cry as it's boiling down. That's my poetry.

...Kronk...you should be honored that Hey Larry took a break to reply to your post.
Just a short while ago, the miserable cur was on his front porch and yelling at the worms to get off his lawn.

It's not much of a lawn anyway. Just a huge snarl of dead and yellowed kudzu surrounding the remnants of an old
Lada that has sunk up to it's axles in mud and household detritus.

Even birds do a flyover.

Date: 8/5/2021 4:28:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 21435    Hey Larry As far as I'm concerned, there is no greater compliment to a poor, pathetic, would be poet, then to have someone interpret their effort. For that, I thank you, sir. L.E.D. gives me no peace, whatsoever. He positions himself under the table, where my feet should go, and uses his every skill available (stare, whimper, bark, growl, paw and sometimes, bite) to separate me from my meal. Thanks for reading.
Date: 8/5/2021 4:35:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 21435    Hekler Man, I'm not much of a gardener, that's for sure, but I can grow peppers. In the flower bed on the side of the house, I have cayenne, miniature sweet bell, jalapeno, and dragon cayenne. I also have a poblano pepper, but I can't get it to produce anything but miniature fruit.

Once, I decided to dry and preserve some of those habanero peppers. That went pretty well. THEN, I decided that I would grind the dried peppers with my miniature coffee bean grinder. THAT was a big mistake. I didn't wear a face mask or wear gloves. The fumes ate up my sinuses. Won't be doing that, again.

A good bottle of hot sauce is serious poetry, indeed. Thanks for coming.

Date: 8/6/2021 8:28:00 AM  From Authorid: 5940    Kronk, I’d like to respond to the mean spirited troll that seems to follow me everywhere I go here at USM.

As I stated, I’m not a poet and so I took an amateur approach to rendering your poem. Is it my fault that I mistook Hekler for the type who’s a lazy loafer snoozing his life away under the table? ( bet that’s not all that’s under the table)

If you ask me, art is in the eye of the beholder.

And his snarky reply to my lawn? Well you can thank the so called premium mulch and grass seed bundle he sold me through HeklerCo. The Better Business Bureau won’t even give him any rating because he’s out of the country!
