Who’s Your Auto Insurance Agent?

BEACHWOOD, Ohio (WOIO) - A speeding driver ran a red light in Beachwood and slammed into another car last month, but the out-of-control vehicle didn’t stop there.

The Parma woman behind the wheel ended up crashing into another car and a house on Richmond Road.

What’s unusual is the woman, who had her 12-year-old daughter in the car, admitted to officers she intentionally ran the red light at Richmond Road and Shaker Boulevard speeding at about 120 miles per hour.

Beachwood police say a Parma woman admits she quite literally, “Let go and let God take the wheel” of her teal Ford Taurus back in mid-June when the crash occurred.

Beachwood traffic cameras captured her first running the red light and slamming into another car. Even though that vehicle was heavily damaged, the other motorist was able to walk away uninjured.

However, after losing control of her vehicle the Parma woman then crashed into a vehicle in the driveway of a Beachwood home and only stopped after colliding with the house. Thankfully no one inside was injured and police say there only appeared to be minor cosmetic damage to the home.

The woman’s 12-year-old daughter was taken to an area hospital after complaining of head injuries.

Beachwood police say immediately after arriving on the scene the woman approached them and stated she was driving 120 miles per hour and intentionally ran the red light to “test her faith in God.”

Date: 7/25/2021 3:21:00 PM  From Authorid: 13969    I don't suppose she considered whether or not Jesus wanted to take the wheel. From what I understand, the way it works is that you're supposed to gently surrender the wheel not drop it like it's a hot potato and punt it into the heavens and hope for the best.

We'd probably be better off if she was a Satan worshiper as she should have a more keen sense of self preservation and others in alignment with that philosophy.

As it stands, she tried to devil her daughters own egg so I'm really not sure there's much hope. In all honestly, to do that and admit it to the police really indicates that something is not right because most normal people, even if strongly religious, have at least two brain cells to rub together and draw the conclusion that it would be a bad idea.

For the love of all that's good and holy do not ever let this woman be in charge of ANY wheels. Boat, vehicle, hamster, pottery. etc.

From the rest of the article the police at the scene had assessed the woman was under stress and overwhelmed at that point in her life. Granted we all have moments where the saying “ Beam me up Scotty!” would apply in our lives to make it all go away. However, running red lights and driving with no concern for the safety of others is not the answer.

My sarcasm knows no boundaries and I wonder how people reach that point in their life.

Date: 7/25/2021 4:07:00 PM  From Authorid: 13969    Like ok I'm under stress and overwhelmed too barbara and i'm not trying to kill other people and blame it on Jesus, and rove my car into their homes. I don't want them to harm themselves but if they're going to act a donkey the least they could do is not take it out on other innocent people that didn't ask to board this particular crazy train.
Date: 7/26/2021 8:53:00 AM  From Authorid: 21435    Hey Larry Many, I and I do mean, MANY, totally "off the wall" thoughts pass through my head, on any given day. Occasionally, I have acted on those thoughts. But, for the most part, I've beaten back the urge to follow through.

Some tell me that satisfying every single temptation is a form of insanity. I don't know about that. Maybe it's `cause I'm getting older and "can't hang," anymore, but I see way too many instances where an individual, or group, does things to themselves, or others, without any thought to final outcome.

NOTE: I am staring at an add, on this page, that's shows what appears to be an eighty foot serpent, washed up on a beach, with a backhoe next to it. Does anyone else see that?

Anyway, I feel a need to make my way to Parma, Ohio

L.E.D. here: "I ain't going!"

Date: 7/26/2021 6:23:00 PM  From Authorid: 21435    Hey Larry L.E.D. here: Thank you very much for your kind offer, sir. Regrettably, I must pass. The way I see it is, if there are people in Parma who don't worry about their child, a Ford truck, or a "Jim Walter" home, I'm not sure just what degree of consideration they'd have for good old "Canis familiaris."
