Secrets -SPG-

This smoke filled room
On the edge of this nowhere town
On a night where the rain just endlessly falls
Becomes the haven for a mistake she will feel
After the drugs stop fogging her head

His voice echoing amongst the haze
But she shuts it out after another hit
Eyes glossed, staring across the bed
She watches his best friend take off his clothes
A secret nobody knows

The neon lights blink through the shades
They lock lips and let it go
Fueled on anger, drugs and some sort of revenge
In her mind she's through
But her heart is lost, not knowing what to do

In the mirror she sees his face
Through tear filled eyes regret sets in
But the devil on her shoulder whispers again
So she buried him like a ship lost in the ocean
Returning to her pleasure in pain

Storm raging outside, winds howling
A man discovers the truth
Under the awning across the way
He watches the silhouettes from a smoke filled room
A secret no longer unknown

Date: 6/30/2021 9:22:00 AM  From Authorid: 16131    I have to admit that I clicked on this work only because I thought the signature was SPC at a glance LOL. The heart of a man can forgive or it can forget but it can not do both. But if a woman forgives she will forget but rarely does either one in such matters. KRONK is quite correct, this is heavy stuff but I can tell you are coming from a very honest place with it. Honesty about dishonesty is in some way honorable as long as the one who is the punchline is being told the truth as well. I know, and hope it works out well for you both.
