...I had a number of people in my earlier years that encouraged me to follow my pursuits no matter how much others may have frowned upon them. My mom was always behind us kids and would also do her best to see that we had the things that would allow us to indulge in our interests even if it meant that we didn't eat as well as we might have or have the trappings of visual wealth.
