...this version of "Afternoon Delight" is even more groan-worthy as it is a live performance and the lead male singer being a zombie, is finding it hard to cope. |

Date: 3/2/2021 5:28:00 PM From Authorid: 5940 One song that immediately comes to mind is “Love Will Keep Us Together “ by The Captain and Tennille. They divorced in 2014........... |

...btw...“Love Will Keep Us Together" was The Carpenters and I thought Karen's death was a real tragedy. I loved the sound of her voice. |
Date: 3/2/2021 6:17:00 PM From Authorid: 5940 How about “ I Did It My Way “ by Sid Vicious? |
Date: 3/2/2021 6:22:00 PM From Authorid: 5940 What turned me off toThe Carpenters was the song.....”We’ve Only Just Begun “. |

...SPG...I'm a throwback to the Johnny Cash era of country music. I haven't listened to a lot of the newer stuff lately because I think I got turned off by all the tearjerky lovey-dovey smork. Nitty Gritty Dirt Band's "Will the Circle Be Unbroken" is a must-have for the traditionalists. |

...Hey Larry...considering the genre, Sid Vicious did a good interpretation of "My Way". Did you ever listen to The Flying Lizards? |
Date: 3/3/2021 12:11:00 AM From Authorid: 5940 Yeah, how about Butthole Surfers? |

Date: 3/3/2021 10:13:00 AM From Authorid: 52489 Cat's in the Cradle, by Cat Stevens. It's so disgusting I have to leave the room. Hearing the story of that guy blowing off his son just broke my heart. The music is stinky, too. It's worse, because my best friend had a father like this. Unlike the song, their relationship soured and became a screaming argument which resulted in my buddy forcing his father to realize that all of his kids had left home and never come back because of his obsession with climbing the corporate ladder. |

...Arion... I feel differently about Harry Chapin's "Cat's in the Cradle". I hear it more as a warning to what may happen if you marry your job and ignore your family. His song "Taxi" is much the same in that it weaves a sad tale of abandoned dreams. |

Well the try Curious Orange by The Fall. There was a real obscure group by the name of M.Froug that was a bizzare ensemble. |

Oh, joy! So many things I can relate to in this post. I mean, sunshine, muskrats, delightful afternoons in star land, Madonna, Sid Vicious and "the captain." "Those are just a few of my favorite things." Oh, and for the record, I love that song...."whiskers on kittens, bright copper kettles and warm woollen mittens". |

Date: 3/9/2021 9:13:00 PM From Authorid: 16131 I am not sure I can answer this one right now since so many great songwriters I have loved over the years have passed on in the last few months. Ray Stevens, Charlie Daniels, Jerry Jeff Walker, and the many before them like Leon Russell, Waylon Jennings and so any others that seem to have gone on in what seems like such a short time. But Anything by Leif Garrett makes me wat to climb the empire state building with a hangman's noose, attach it to the top, put it around my neck, jump off, have the rope break and crash down upon him and his brother walking on the sidewalk below. I'll revisit this one when I have a more solid answer. Leif Garrett " Yummy, yummy , yummy I got somethin' in my tummy and I feel like lovin' you" |
Date: 3/10/2021 5:07:00 AM From Authorid: 5940 You know Scarecrow, I’ve managed to obtain a recording of Hekler singing “Feelings “ while taking a shower. Let me tell you it made me want to take an ice pick and puncture my ear drums. But on the bright side, it’s a fantastic repellent for insects and door to door salespersons. |
