Buttergate : Canada’s Shame

As if the world doesn’t have enough problems as it is, our neighbors to the north seem to have an issue with their butter and had to make it an international crisis comparable to the Pandemic.

Canadians are complaining that their butter has suddenly become hard and isn't melting the way it used to.

Concerned home chefs and food experts have spoken out about what has been dubbed "buttergate" online, calling for answers.

There is no research proving why butter is harder, but some dairy consumers are pointing to the increased use of palm oil in cow feed as the culprit.

Not all food scientists are convinced that palm oil is what has hardened Canada's butter, or that the products' consistency has changed at all.

University of Guelph food microbiologist Keith Warriner told CTV that how the butter is processed may also play a role.

If you process butter too quickly, it can be too hard," he told the station.

He also said it's possible that some people are just now noticing that butter is harder than it was a few years ago.

Some on social media believe that the cold weather has played a role in why their butter is staying solid longer at room temperature.

...this is the first I've heard of this so I'm leaning to believe that it's another attempt at negative propaganda.
Sure, Canada has many things that are harder than might be found south of the border.
For example; the ability to spell the word 'kat' will not get you high marks in a college entrance exam.

The hardness of butter is the smallest of our worries at present as Canadian leaders ponder the difficulties that may
be faced in the years not too far distant when we will have to work out trade treaties with our new Russian and Chinese neighbors.

If the quality of the butter is still substandard at that time, we will simply sell the bad stuff to them. They won't know the difference.

...I just recalled a story this insensitive swine told me about two years ago.
He had asked a young lady to the high school dance but made her wear a canvas sack
over her head. As he told it, everything about her looked good butterface.

Date: 2/25/2021 7:08:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 5940    I never realized that Canadian people had problems spelling. Does the same apply to do basic math? Wow! And I used to think Canada Dry was in reference to a soft drink......my bad.

Date: 2/25/2021 7:16:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 5940    That story you claimed to have recalled, yeah that sounds an awful lot like something Kronk would say....just saying.
Date: 2/25/2021 7:19:00 PM  From Authorid: 5301

...basic math is not a highly required need up here. As long as one can count to 6, 12 or 24, we're good.

...please accept my humblest apology for taking a low shot at a fine elected official and family man.

...maybe it was Kronk that said it. I'm getting forgetful in my last days.

Date: 3/4/2021 2:52:00 PM  From Authorid: 21435    Hey Larry There was this one girl named.....Well, maybe I shouldn't name names. We'll just call her "SS" for the sake of this comment. I mean, she could actually still be alive today, although, she'd surely be around 117 years old. (and NO, "SS" is not code for the current speaker of the house of representatives of the United States of America) That one has fangs, drinks the blood of middle class citizens and IS about 479 years old.

You know what? My attorney is beating me in the shins and advising me that I'm on "shaky ground." I'll tell you about "SS" later.

Date: 3/5/2021 6:18:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 5940    Kronk, for a moment there I thought you were speaking code for “Social Security “ due to the age factor. It’s the reason whyI play the lottery these days.
Date: 3/5/2021 9:00:00 AM  From Authorid: 21435    Hey Larry Ahhh, yes. Our social security. I got a fourteen dollar raise, last year. Of course, medicare when up, also. All told, I believe I cleared a whole two dollars and sixty cents. With the extra demands on the system, we probably won't get another raise for four years. I haven't won anything playing the lottery in so long, I've actually started buying cheap surplus ammunition, instead. We still have enough "mag dump" freaks down here that I can keep myself in "Pabst Blue Ribbon." Take care of you, my friend. It's a beautiful time to be alive. Write on.....
Date: 3/5/2021 9:03:00 AM  From Authorid: 21435    Oh, and there is nothing "social," or "secure" about the current speaker of the house.
Date: 3/8/2021 5:33:00 PM  From Authorid: 54570    Was he wearing the glasses or did he have the beard???

Date: 3/8/2021 5:40:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 5940    Both.he went all out....
