...Kronk's Sore Arm

(alternate title : I Fell Asleep Caressing My Pillow)

This is an ode to getting older, falling asleep in a pretzel-like fashion and regretting it in the morning.
Been there, done that.

My arm...it hurts, it is so sore
feels like I slammed it in a door
but that I know I did not do
it happened when I had my snooze

So comfy when I went to bed
pillow soft beneath my head
Way back in time my dreams took me
to a point in ancient history

A temptress ruling 'pon the Nile
my thoughts were lurid, sometimes vile
She fed me grapes and poured me beer
my sleepy smile ear to ear

A dog's cold snout upon my knee
reminds me that I have to (use the washroom)
Anubis sneers at my  false desire
for night has gone, sun risen higher

Slowly I rise to greet the day
the scent of myrrh is still in play
in fuzzy remnants and hazy spots
fading quick from conscious thoughts

I bend my arm and feel the aching
that brings me to a full awakening
Yes, my arm it hurts...it is so sore
feels like I slammed it in a door

By using rhyme with little reason, I'll bet you've been accused of treason.

It's nothing more than mere mularkey

But that's because you are so snarky.

I like the little poem you wrote
made you look like quite a thinker
but everyone that knows you well
knows that you're just a stinker

The lounge chair bit won't fool me
as it does with many others
and the incest in your family
where your sisters are your brothers

We've known each other twenty years
likely nineteen years too many
I've watched you on that South Park show
the kid that they call Kenny

So tell your jokes and make us groan
every Saturday come break of dawn
it won't bother me, I'm getting older
and I'll soon be moving on.

Date: 2/24/2021 10:48:00 AM  From Authorid: 5940    How soon is too soon

For an unreasonable Canadian loon?

Wouldn't be the least bit surprised if you were found dead in a nearby lagoon.

It's never too late

So please don't hesitate

Put on some roller skates

Because it's never too soon.

Date: 2/24/2021 3:04:00 PM  From Authorid: 21435    Hekler Bravo! Bravo! I knew that you and Hey Larry had it in you. Digging on the poetic resurgence. Write on.....
Date: 2/24/2021 4:31:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 5301

Much like Hey Larry's parents
you'd like to see him go far
to escape is utter futility
he's got a tracker on your car

But don't lose hope my extant friends
it won't be long for you and me
when he runs out of new words
his poetry ends

Date: 2/24/2021 6:07:00 PM  From Authorid: 5940    Poster child for birth control

He means well so we’re told

Your valuable items have been sold

You know we told you so

He earns your trust just like a Trump

Do not be fooled just like a chump

Keep in mind the Golden Rule

Do not allow yourself to be fooled

The joy of dawn
then night so scary
he comes out at dark
it must be Hey Larry
