Hey! Where’s Gilligan and the S.S. Minnow? For that matter....what kind of name is Gilligan? Is it of a Greek origin? |

...Hey Larry...you are absolutely correct in your belief that the name Gilligan has a Greek connection. Gilligan is the patronymic version of a male's name honoring the ancient Greek goddess Gilliga while female children would be appointed with a similar name: Gilligenne. As for the S.S. Minnow, it was lost in the Bermuda Triangle and was not a warship of the Greek Goddesses. |
