Was the millenia turning.
You held my face
In the quiet aftermath
And said..
"I have always loved you"..
It has now been a lifetime.
My beauty is gone.
My heart is stricken.
My bed is cold.
Tears rain on my pillow.
You left me..
And did not leave.
You follow me down pathways
Of dreams.
I am an unwilling prisoner
Of gone by memories.
Stop haunting me now!
I cannot rest!
After all these loveless
And empty years
I do not deserve
This cruel taunting..
So I drink the ale.
I write the words.
And deep in the secret
Dark places of my spirit
I hope you come again
