I see grace once in a while.
I know my sins went off the rails and even out of style.
And all that I ever wanted was a truth that was not a lie.
I'll finally see that when I see the savior's smile.
I've had kindness that was never owed to me.
Sometimes I get lost in the few true hearted that I have seen.
Even with the pain and punishment by the self righteous life's been worth while.
So I can't wait until the day I see the savior's smile.
I'll give him all of the praise before I see his face.
Waiting for the day my senses when they go wild.
I will gladly bend my knee in the best of company.
When my tormentor's not there and I see the savior's smile.

I've known love and love has known me.
It carried me through when I was just too bland to see.
That I've turned pages and been bashed for singing about those miles.
But I will find comfort when they get me to where the we see the savior's smile.
The shoes I must wear are falling to pieces from off of my feet.
While God plans my future days better than anyone could think they would be.
I have been a dad and a father there is a difference and it's on my file.
Sometimes I just hope to see the savior's smile.
I'll give him all of the praise before I see his face.

I was small then big now I have been big and small.
I have been redeemed by the writing on the walls.
Not by my own hand and not in my own style.
Written where I first said "I Can see the savior smile."
I see the ways in which we all depend.
Upon each other so why can't we just be friends?
No one should have to walk one more lonely mile.
Let's walk it out to where we can see the savior's smile.
Let's give him all of the praise before we see his face.
And we will be there when the masses all go wild.
He will lift us all from our bending knee in the best of company.
He'll say "You're only meant to be on earth for a little while.
I can see you here and that's enough to make me smile"
