What a wild untamed ride you take us on here Kronk. Glad you're ok. Here in Holden Beach NC i lost a part of my porch roof but God kept us safe in the camper. |

American Antipasto Thanks for the kind words. Most of my gang left the area. (smart choice) I keep saying that I will leave also, but it's tough taking off and leaving everything behind. I was prepared to beat a hasty retreat, but that was not necessary, since the storm veered away from my area at the last minute. Electric power was lost for three days and aside from the 105 degree heat index, I made it well enough. I could definitely live the rest of my days without experiencing another hurricane. Sometimes, I wonder if I have been snatched up and deposited into some other dimension. |

Ginger I really am more foolhardy than brave. I could never encourage anyone to ride out one of those storms. Truth be known, the whole experience is extremely frightening. The first half of that post dealt with what I experienced during that "long" night. The second half is what "could" have happened if the eye of the storm had passed over my area.
