Walking through town, the small shops have their "For Sale" signs in the windows
The boulevard appears empty...the people have gone away
I alone weep in the loneliness...I alone wipe the tears
It is such a pretty sidewalk...a mason's masterpiece
There is no one to appreciate the perfect cuts of stone
My eyes look into the abandoned storefront
Tarnished chairs and displays are left behind with broken dreams
What was it that made you leave?
No business?
No interest?
No Money?
Covid-19?
Who will dare to be next in line?
A new owner with a bright smile?
We need someone to believe....someone to believe in a new idea
A new idea to earn a living
