When this coronavirus event first began and everyone was in lockdown, instantly unemployed and living off meager means, some people will step forward and lend a hand.
I believe that these people should be awarded with at least some recognition for their good deeds instead of being looted and forgotten.
We have an independently and locally owned theater in this town which stepped out in a big way when folks were needing the assistance the most.
The owners and staff of Film.ca in Oakvill, Ontario are highly worthy of these kudos.
A goodly number of bins containing non-perishable foodstuffs, toiletries, pet items and baby neccessities with organized contents with clear labelling
were arranged under the large weatherproof portico. Available to all 24/7, these bins were replenished daily, often by donors from the community as well as theater staff (all of whom were very friendly).
In addition, Shelves, tables and boxes FULL of books were available and there was even a loving amount of new and used toys and games donatedfor the younger people.
Since the lowering of the risk assessment, Film.ca has discontinued their food drive but over the three or four months they had it in operation, it was a great boon to many.
THANKS FILM.ca !!!
