When Iris Miller drowned upon dry land.
Her house was a Disney Land for horders.
News papers dating back to Kennedy's assassination.
A stack of them catalogging every horror.
They found her body beneath the pile of apex tapes.
Under the gaze of a smoking porcelain ape.
She never got to read the morning paper.
When the obituary told the details of her demise that day.
It's amazing how many ways there is to drown.
Sometimes it's all of the simple things that can take you down.
She stumbled into the apex tapes when she stumbled on a plastic grape.
When you hold onto the past, you drown beneath the weight.

When Iris Miller drowned.
Her eldest son blew up at the coroner.
He screamed his mother was in perfect health.
So there had to be an intruder who snuck up and floored her.
He tried to prove his theory for 15 years.
And the one discreptancy he found.
That plastic grape she stumbled on was wax.
He wasted his fortune when his poor old heart gave out.
It's amazing how many ways there is to drown.
Sometimes it's all of the simple things that can take you down.
The insurance companies did not pay and the lawyers claimed they were never paid.
When you han on to the past, you will dfrown beneath the weight.

Iris's son's wife found him face down.
It was very much to her dismay.
All of their children plagued herr with questions.
When would their inheritence be paid?
He left her without a penny but a multiplex of memories.
That made her stroke out leaving no cares.
Their children hounded her but she could only get what he left behind in debt.
So when she promptly died they inherited their share.
It's amazing how many ways that there is to drown.
Push too many eggs in a basket and they all fall out.
They were hoping for daddy's money but daddy died too late.
When you put your faith in the past, you drown beneath the weight.

(( Just an interesting story that spun itself in my mind about how people put stock in things that don't matter and depend on things coming their way that they should really earn themselves. The expectation of certainty or wealth and the things that get sacrificed for the sake of either. I actually thought I did a good job sewing in some humorous circumstances/lines at least in the way the story played out in my mind. Hope you all like it and enjoy the read.>
