I see that the drift just got torn down today.
Along with the memories of the friends who met inside.
Fred the owner locked up the doors saying " The drift inn ain't drifting anymore
Besides that the juke box withered and died"
No more Big and Rich or or Charlie's fiddle's itch.
No more hard working men and women on the stool.
It was the last country atmosphere in all of Broward County.
No there's no place to go for heart broken fools.
No more fiddles or guitars or jazz pianos.
Seems like time has torn us all apart.
This is my last country song and then I'll retire my banjo.
This is all breaking my old country heart.

The pool table is still standing but someone raided the change box.
And left graffitti on the last standing wall.
You can just make out the floor where many had once danced or took a fall.
And the payphone sitting there from which a million cabs were called.
The cow pasture are now houses, they tore down the wooden church.
And built a 5 bedroom hose for the newest preacher in town.
He says Said to give the preacher 30% of your made livin'.
Or God will send you somewhere hot south bound and down.
No more fiddles or guitars or jazz pianos.
Seems like time has torn us all apart.
This is my last country song and then I'll retire my banjo.
This is all breaking my old country heart.

The southern fox was sold and every camp ground is emprty.
And the coyotes and bears have are extinct, they've all been killed.
Everyone's packing up and scattering to the cities.
And corona has everyone scared to death of geting ill.
It's so sad to jst not care that they have stolen out clean air.
With a pandemic and 5G rolling out.
I guess I am not that swift, simplicity is my gift.
But they ruined another little florida town.
No more fiddles and guitars or jazz pianos.
It's decention that keeps all torn apart.
This is my last country song as I ock away my banjo.
Because it is broken like my country heart.
