Not To Get Political ... but Here She Goes ... ~Ginger~

Not to get political  ... but then if we don't 'get political', should we complain about where we end up ... if we didn't pick up the oars and start rowing.

So ...

I did not care for Trump as a know-it-all game show host, on-and-off again entrepreneur, or morally questionable human. So not a big surprise that I didn't vote for him. Once saddled with him in the oval office, I felt that I should see how this trail ride would go. The best thoroughbred horse or well worn cow pony can be ridden to the finish line, but which one has the qualities the are needed.

Hot blooded and too temperamental for the average rider to handle

Or

Agile, quick and smart in herding the right way to get the job done.

During these past 3.5 years unless you are living under a rock, it can't pass you by that the world seems to think that we have an odd US President. In fact I feel very bad for Trump supporters because they can not read almost any news articles without seeing him slammed daily.  Talk shows must also be not tolerable for Trump lovers either since their monologs are almost 100% concentrated on the daily antics of the President. I actually miss the old days when the talk show openings would include world events, jokes and strange stories that didn't center around Donald Trump.

Now, I'm not a right wing/left wing democrate/independent/republican. I am however for whoever will be the right person for the job. Pink,  purple or polka dotted ... just be a strong leader with a moral compass that will not fail in the strongest of storms.

At this point in my decision making, I'm not seeing a strong enough candidate. Biden didn't bring enough to the table during 8 years as vice president. He has the opportunity to show us what he can do now,  but are we really getting a sense of what that will be?

I know I don't want another 4 years of Trump. I'm overloaded daily on this kind of crazy. I can't even get started on so many issues that are heartwrenching. From the latest items with not allowing the CDC to tell us the stats we need to hear about the Corona Virus, to the bigger picture of our states impact. I live in and love Washington State. It will probably take the next 1 to 2 decades to fully reverse the devastation that Trump has brought environmentally to our land, rivers, ocean and wildlife. He wants big business to thrive but the cost is far too high for our beautiful state.

Possibly the deciding factor in this next political decision we all are facing will be the Vice-President running mate that Biden chooses. The press seems to think he will choose a woman to run with him. Others believe it will be a decision to bring a woman of color to the forefront. This will be very telling and will predict possibly how the rest of his campaign will roll. If he chooses wisely, she will be a very strong candidate with a great value system and deep understanding of law and process that we can depend on. However if he chooses poorly and brings in someone that will only ride the coat-tails of the president, then he is missing the boat and may sink his opportunity to lead us for the next 4 years. He will not get the 'women's-vote' or 'gender-race vote', unless we see the strength we desperately need as a country right now!

Come on, let it out. What are your thoughts ...

Date: 7/25/2020 12:55:00 PM  From Authorid: 5940    It's time get off my lounge chair and reach the nearest soap box. Honesty and common sense are sadly lacking in our current society today. Instead it seems our country is being run by corporations, lobbyists, wealthy people who can pay for the influence that is not directed to the average American. Needless to say Trump is not a leader and he is way too vain to care what people think of him. And, he's a LIAR! Biden needs to choose wisely as you said. Hopefully it is a strong woman and color is not an issue for me but for others it is. We need leadership, pure and simple, and bring back the middle class. Now, I must retire to my lounge chair.

Yes please, I'll have a big helping of Leadership, with a side dish of Honesty and for dessert Common Sense ala'mode ... double scoop.

Date: 7/26/2020 5:31:00 AM  From Authorid: 5940    Hey, if Dr. Fauci ever ran for office I would vote for him. He's never lied and he can lead.
Date: 7/27/2020 4:36:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 998    Hey, and Dr Fauci seems to be able to withstand bullies without being pushed around too much. Maybe that is a sign of a leader.
Date: 7/27/2020 10:20:00 AM  From Authorid: 21435    Ginger A lady should be able to "get political" on her own website and I will defend that right, `till the end. "Land, rivers, ocean and wildlife;" all are very important to secure, because it's all been severely compromised, already. I guess I am a "tree hugger," so taking any more of our diminishing natural places, upsets me. I think that the media "slamming" of any reigning president of these United States is a mistake. That advertises to the rest of the world that we are divided and could be construed as a sign of weakness. As far as the upcoming presidential elections go, I'm almost to the point that I think we need an entity to run a purge on our current system and try it again, `cause what's going on now, is unacceptable. Who that miracle worker might be, I dunno.? God, maybe? Take care of you.
Date: 7/28/2020 12:20:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 998    Yep Kronk, I knew you could speak to the nature all around us, as your part of the country is abundant in beauty and resources. We watch as special interest groups and nature conservationists work tirelessly to get protection laws inacted to safeguard our land, water and wildlife. Some of these concerns took years and years to put into place, and with a single pen on his desk and no say-so from Americans, Trump has wiped out those protections. Pollution is returning already to very sensitive wetlands and habitats that will not rebound from this abuse. The ability for businesses to dump pollutants into the air and water has now reverted to decades ago levels and it will only get worse. We as a people have learned better, but that isn't good for the bottom line of businesses. What a shame, and that is only one area of extreme importance that this administration has devastated. I could give you examples of literally dozens of other areas that Washington State is now suffering from at his hands.
Date: 7/28/2020 12:31:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 998    I do agree with you Kronk on the constant ripping down of our President and how that appears to the world. I actually miss the days when the occasional wrong words spoken or a stumble might create jokes for the days humorists. Definitely past presidents had lapses in judgment especially in their private lives, but it wasn't put on display like today in the media.

So, a miracle worker you say. Yep, I have a strong want for better choices ... it's getting pretty late in the proverbial day for something better to pop up for us. I do pray that God has a good plan for all this.

Date: 8/1/2020 9:20:00 PM  From Authorid: 16131    We definitely need to toughen up in this country with leaders who have our best interests in mind and not just themselves. I always love your posts Ginger, they are always thought provoking.
Date: 11/16/2022 5:12:00 PM  From Authorid: 21435    Ginger Well, lady, here we are, two years later and....

"L.D."---Hush up, kronk! Ginger doesn't need you to point out anything. She knows.

kronk---Hey, dog! Take it easy. You don't even know what I was going to say.

"L.D."---I know you well enough, now, back off!

kronk---HEY! You bit me!

"L.D."---hehehe
