I'm not gonna be here when you wake.
I will not be here as you start your day.
I don't know why but, I know I'm gonna miss you
I don't want to see you watch me walk away.
A misspelled name they might etch in stone.
And a dash for the years that sped away.
A misplaced price for loving the yo I knew.
In spite of the many words that I had no choice but to chain.
Sometimes it's best to walkk away.
It's never wrong to humble yourself and hit your knees and pray.
You've already wet your finger and turned the page.
There are words that are best to leave unsaid.
And they are mine to leave that way....

There's no speech written down to guide me.
I'm not even sure what I'm supposed to do.
My it was my attitude and timing wasted.
I did not come here to leave without you.
We're like 2 stars at the end of a play.
Who ad libbed lines and left an audience feeling spent.
The hot white lights fade from the stage.
But no one recalls the closing lines or even what they meant.
Sometimes it's best to walkk away.
It's never wrong to humble yourself and hit your knees and pray.
You've already wet your finger and turned the page.

I'm not gonna be here when you wake up.
Love can not be given until it's made.
You won't cry because you just don't know if I'll miss you.
You will cry because I was the one to stand up and walk away.
My confession to you is that I'll miss you.
I am sure I'll see you somewhere again someday.
I paid a real high price for love and freedom.
But at least you gave me the right to walk away.
Sometimes it's best to walk away.
I'm happy you let me think the words that you would ever let me say.
I guess it's best to turn and burn the page.
So I can leave my feelings left usaid.
And they are mine to leave that way....
