I recall a day, that day of rain. And it refused to go away. But you kept me entertained with the board games. And we both laughed that day away. We saw a sad face of someone who chose to go to waste. We had sympathy anyway. That growled some words beneath their breath. But we chose to not let it be our life or death. And then came a harder rain. But we just played anyway. It seemd like we had gone home. We were in a place where there was no difference and noone parted ways. It felt like home. As our imaginations ran away. We had no roof to put over our heads. We were too busy living to live like we were dead. We were in a place of mind where we did not have to be alone. Nothing mattered then.... we were home.
I was introduced to the avenging angel that we all call time. He will take something away to rebuild your life. Then you just had to graduate. I felt so proud but old that day. I know that you'll find love and have a kid of your own. If you put that danged controller down and ever leave me alone. But each time I feel the rain. It remeinds me of a brighter day. It seemd like we had gone home. We were in a place where there was no difference and noone parted ways. It felt like home. Before time had ran away. We had no roof to put over our heads. We were too busy living to live like we were dead. We were in a place of mind where we did not have to be alone. Nothing mattered then.... we were home.
Now you're turning 24 and I recall so any days. When we had no chains to bind us to some of the darkest days. But I think we've grown up enough. Life's rough but it ain't that tough. Time likes passing blindly, it's up to you what you will take. What you're going to carry with you and what you will choose to put away. Noone needs this old man anymore. You'll do much more than I did before. And you'll find home. You'll find place where there is no difference and noone parts the ways. It will be like home. Before time can run away. Unlike when we had no roof to put over our heads. You're gonna be too busy living now to live like we were dead. I'm a lttle old and worn down now and soon God will move me on. But what matters now.... is we are home.
