Sitting wih a fat cat sitting in my lap.
He's my bodyguard saying "don't mess with my old man"
But he turns to jelly in the palms of my hands
I love him more than even I can stand.
He's a good man who looks after everyone.
Looks out for everybody out under the sun.
He's a better man than most people I know.
What an injustice that he ain't in a picture show.
He's one of my best friends.
He'll be there when it's the end
He will hold my hand when I crash land.
My bodyguard is better than most any man.
He's my best friend.

A big guy strolled up to say "hello".
My bodyguard gave him a look that said "oh heck no.
This man's saved my skinin the middle of the night.
You better walk on now or we'll have to fight"
He don't lie to see other cats getting my attention.
When I'm not looking he get's their attention.
He's the same way with ducks and dogs too.
He tells them "that's my daddy he has nothing to do with you.
He's one of my best friends.
He'll be there when it's the end
He will hold my hand when I crash land.
My bodyguard is better than most any man.
He's my best friend.

Some people say I should run a zoo.
Because I talk with the animals you can't get through to.
But if my bodyguard ever has his way.
He's the only one I will talk to today.
Stares out the window when I walk outside.
To make sure there's noone else getting what he thinks is his time.
He'll even take a swipe when his girlfriend won't go away.
To run her off or keep her at bay.
He's one of my best friends.
He'll be there when it's the end
He will hold my hand when I crash land.

I like the way his sister will put him in his place.
You know when it's coming, it's written all over her face.
She'll hit him out of nowhere with a perfect RKO.
He sits there bewildered, his face says "ah, heck no."
But my bodyguard has sure been good to me.
The same as his bueatiful sister miss Penelope.
I can't imagine a day of my life without them now.
Though if they could talk about me it would be 4 lettered and loud.
They are some of my best friends.
They'll be there when it's the end
They will hold my hand when I crash land.
She's better than a nurse, he's better than a man.
He's my best friend.
