I was first along. Wasn't too much celebration. I learned to hide my tears, Knew bruises through the years, So much unsaid But actions said "UNWANTED".
You came later on. The rooms rang with cheers and music. Invisible for awhile, No beatings meant faint smiles, I was just the servent. And you rose To be their goddess.
Why don't they look at me? I did the best I could.
In your shadow it's always cold. And now I'm growing old. I can't feel anything.
I guess I died long ago The day you were born. Only knowing scorn.
I'm tired.. So tired.
Tell them to remember me.
