Someday I wish to visit Alaska and swim with the whales
Or maybe sail the high seas as a pirate because they say "Dead mean tell no tales"

Maybe climb the Eiffel Tower in Paris or see the Ancient Ruins in Greece
Gaze at the Wonders of Egypt while I lay awake at midnight and just stare at my feet

I wonder why my family is not the family I once knew in my younger days
Yet my dog still remains at my side, always a constant when he looks up at me in his loving way

I search for the sweet memories but they begin to blur and fade to black
I dream of those moments of happiness, can't I just turn around and go back

I wish to hold onto that awesome feeling of splendor
But once again I awake and lick the broken dreams postmarked: return to sender
