In the Fall of 1991, when I was in my early 20s, I was living with an older brother, and I slept on the sofa bed in the living room. One morning when I thought I was awake, I looked over to the chair that was near the front door and saw a heavy set white man staring at me. He had his left arm on the arm of the chair, and I distinctly saw a blue-colored tattoo on it. I couldn't make out exactly what the tattoo was of, but it was clear otherwise. I remember wondering why this man was staring so intently at me while I was lying in bed staring right back at him. Then, suddenly, he disappeared, and although my eyes were already open, they seemed to come all the way open, as if I was coming out from under a state of hypnosis.
This episode I had could be considered one called Sleep Paralysis, but this person that was in my room that day was very real to me. He had dark brown hair, a small mustache, brown eyes, and was wearing a black shirt or jacket, and some blue jeans. And, of course, he had that distinct tattoo. So, if he was just a part of my sleep paralysis imagination, why were his features so defined, I wondered. How it changed my life:This vision made me feel like there are many who have passed over that observe the living more often than we know.
