Hi,
When I was 13 years old, I found a box of awards with a letter to his granddaughter, stating one of the awards rode on the last successful mission of the Challenger with the first black man into space. I have contacted NASA,Boeing and Johnson Space center. They just ignore me. It seems they don't want me to know anything about this man.Over the 17 years of research. I figured out he was a private contractor named Raymond Dale Blackburn. If you google "Neosho Missouri Blackburn". You can read about his success. I have called Los angels city to find out what project he left Rockwell to develop a system for los angels. Then recruited back to upgrated "international space system". Los angels city said I could not be given any information since I am not a family member. I called the Los angels library and they detected me to archives.Alabama space camp wont responded back about Kira the granddaughter the letter was written to by Grandpa Raymond Dale Blackburn. Would you be capable of helping me finding the story of this very historically unknown man. Who I found 6 of his awards and a letter in the trash. I just want to understand why no one cares about this very important man who helped create a significant part of our world history. I feel he deserves a higher honor than becoming trash. Feel free to contact me at anytime. Thank you for your time and patience.
