This happened a few days ago when I was on my way home from work. To save some time on my walk, I always take a shortcut across the lawn of the local college. It's a pretty open space. Not a whole lot of trees or shrubbery. Well, not too far off in the distance, I noticed a dark figure walking. I didn't think much of it. I figured it was just another person. It was a few minutes shy of 1am, but it's not unusual to see people loitering around the campus at this time. As I was staring at the figure crossing the lawn, it...disappeared. It's like those stories where people say they were staring at something and it was gone the moment they blinked. Only I didn't blink. It just disappeared while I was looking right at it.
