I just had a little story about a particular Halloween. It was a few years ago and my husband and I had been invited to a Halloween / Scavenger Hunt. I was really excited until I read on the invitation that costumes were required.
I have never been the type for costumes, so I was baffled as to what to wear for this party. I'm pretty shy and don't like to stand out in a crowd, so I could not imagine wearing something fancy, glittery or even a mask. So as you can see, I was putting a lot of limits on what was left to choose from.
Well as the date got closer, my husband had already made his own costume. It was his childhood hero, Zoro. He did the whole sword, cape and hat and he looked really cute. I however was getting more and more nervous since I hadn't made my decision.
We had a little financial thingy, so funds were tighter than usual and now my resources were even more limited. Then I thought about something I had not had the chance to do in real life, and that was graduate. So that seemed like the perfect costume for me. Yay, I could be a graduate. I went to my local thrifty shop and voila there were lots of colors of graduate gowns with their matching caps. How perfect and inexpensive and made me feel like a winner all at the same time.
I had the best time at that party and will always remember it. I do wish I had a photo to finish the story, but we didn't take any.
