I had a creepy experience with a friend of mine back when we were in middle school. I can't remember what year it was anymore, but it would have been between 1999-2001. One day after getting out of school me and my two friends went to the one friend’s house to work on a school project together. We had finished the project and decided to walk to our town park to walk around and play.
We were at the park until it got dark out. We realized it was getting late and we started to head back to my friend's house. We were almost to the crosswalk to cross the highway and all of a sudden, she starts to panic like crazy. I asked her what was wrong. She said "I had a really horrible dream about this night. It's going to come true and we are going to die."
I asked her what happened in her dream. She told me we were hanging out at the park like that night. We started to walk back to her house and we get hit by a car and die.
I was really scared but I did my best to stay very calm and took control of the situation. I said to her we should we should walk back to her house and we can figure out what to do from there. She was freaking out and said she didn't want to walk to her house because she had a dream about that night, it was going to come true, and we were going to die. I calmly told her we were going to be alright and we are not going to die. She still refused to walk back to her house. She just wouldn't budge.
We stood and thought about how we would get back to her house. I said we couldn't just stay there in the park until her mom noticed we never got back to the house and came looking for us. Back then we didn't have cell phones and we had no money with us at the time to use the pay phones to call her mom. I told her I was going to walk back to her house and get her mom. I would tell her mom what was going on and she can go pick them up at the park with her car. Our friend who stayed pretty silent through the whole thing said "I am not staying here at the park. It's too dark out. I am walking back with you." Then I asked her if she was going to be alright staying at the park by herself while we go get her mom or did she want to walk back with us. She said she didn't want to stay there all by herself but was still scared to walk back with us. I told her I'd feel much better if she did walk to her house with us. I didn't want to leave her there alone. I knew how I would have felt if I was left alone in the dark town park alone.
As we decided and started to walk back to her house I told her we would just be very careful. I again calmly said to her we were going to be alright. We will get back to her house safely. She continued to panic and said "I don't know. We might die."
We got about a minute walk away from her house and there was either a full moon or close to a full moon. It wasn’t a pitch-black night. There was quite some moonlight. We were perfectly capable of seeing where we were going. There were some shaded places by houses where the moonlight couldn’t get too. We were walking past one house and my friend suddenly screams at the top of her lungs. She takes off running up the hill crying hysterically. I caught up to her, stopped her, and asked what was wrong.
She said she saw someone standing in the shade by the house and they were pointing at her. She was again freaking out and saying we were going to die. I asked her if she saw who it was and maybe it was someone wandering around outside their house at night. Someone just playing a nasty trick. She said she couldn't see who it was because it was just a shadow of a person. When she looked toward the house and screamed my head immediately turned to where she was looking, and I didn't see anything. I asked the other friend with us if she saw anything and she said she didn't.
We were not far from her house. You could see her house from where she screamed and said she saw someone point at her. We were all so scared. I told her we should hurry up and get back to her house. We first started to speed walk and then ran to her house.
We got back to her house and she just collapses in her yard crying so hysterically. Her mom was in the house and heard her daughter crying. She came outside and asked what happened. I told her everything that happened, and she said we were going to call it a night. She drove both me and the other friend home. I was never so happy to be home safe.
I am now almost 31 years old and I still remember that night. A few years later we were in school and she showed me some things on her body. I was concerned and told her she needed to go home and talk to her mom. I will not discuss what was wrong with her body. It’s not for me to say. It could be personal to her.
A few months later she wasn’t coming to school anymore. At that time the internet was just starting to get well used but there weren’t many websites to find classmates and talk online to keep in touch when you don’t see them in school anymore. After I graduated high school I started to talk to her again online when the internet became very popular. I asked her what had happened and why she stopped coming to school. She said she went to a different school for people with mental disabilities. She told me she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. I figure that is why she was the way she was that night. I certainly will never forget that night because what happened with her and her brother slamming my head in the car door. haha
