From the Los Angeles Herald, November 3rd, 1889.

"The people living on the beach were awakened this morning by a loud screeching noise in the ocean. Everybody ran to the Pier from where a monster Sea Serpent could be seen. This occurred at two hundred and two South Spring Street.

Don't forget it."

Date: 4/13/2018 1:50:00 AM  From Authorid: 998    Wow, how could this have ever been forgotten over time? It sure seems like loads of investigations would have immediately taken place with incredible news coverage. Maybe a tourist industry off LA would have sprung up as well.

This little article certainly makes me incredibly interested to find out what that crowd saw in 1889. Thanks for sharing it with us Arion.
