I've always enjoyed this site, and I still comment on the posts which appear. I've been hoping that we'll have another live get-together such as we enjoyed a few years ago. At that time I had the good fortune to meet Zema, whose virtual company I've been fortunate to share for years. USM represents an island of civility on an Internet which--unfortunately, like the rest of the world--has become increasingly polarized. USM maintains a G rating which I have always thought was a good thing. Best of all, USM maintains the same format it has had for years, which is a great piece of stability! Nothing irritates me more than websites which feel the need to change for no good reason. Will USM go away? Maybe. But I hope that the site will pass into another set of loving hands and stick around.  |

How does this place exist? It exists because two loving people have worked hard together side by side to make it still exist. USM is a gentle place on the internet where me and many others alike can come after a long sometimes weary day no matter the season, sit down , relaxing…... Where we can come together and enjoy each other’s company howbeit across a computer or phone screen. Where we all can create awesome posts whether it’s a poem an interesting story or something interesting happening in our society this day and time., or maybe even a spook story filled with ghoulish ghosty goblins!-----Whoo!-----It's a special place where we can honor the memory of a loved one or wish someone a Happy Birthday.------I've said since Facebook's beginning, it is all good and well, sharing pics recipes, or texting through messenger---- it's simply a different concept and most have a facebook account these days, however fb by any means is any thing like our Beloved USM and its special Angels. There's no place like USM I’ve been coming here and have been a member 16 years, soon be 17 in December…. I so enjoy reading the variety of posts and am concerned how others are doing, how they are feeling-------here there is sincerity, and I agree with Arion the “G” rating keeps it honest, respectful----I love every thing about USM----------The colorful blinking lights, the colorful posts and The Special people, there are so many!-------“How does this place exist!?---------------------Thank GOD, it still exists!!-------------  |

Hello Pillsbury  I for one am very happy to see USM here still standing after many years. Many of us had grown up here. I was a very young kid when I first joined USM and still am here to this day. So many great memories here, even having the wonderful privilege of meeting the owners in person on many occasions. They are kind, positive, and wonderful people. The fact that they put so much effort into continuing to keep USM even though it may not be as active indicates that they definitely care about those who still continue to visit/return. I would also like to point out that sometimes this place still gets quite busy here and there. This place is NOTHING like Facebook and thank goodness for that. Facebook is full of garbage talking individuals, who often insult one another when someone disagrees with their political views. On facebook it is rare to have that authentic connection with others, as we created here over many years. I would choose USM any day and I am glad to see it still standing! A huge thank you to G&G for working so hard behind the scenes for keeping this place going!   |

I have only recently came back from this site after 18 years. I am very glad it still exists. I hope it will continue to exists and with the layout that it is. I love the (now retro) look of this site. I can't stand the modern Internet sites. The world wide web has lost its creativity. I think this is exactly what the Internet needs again. Social media is becoming to negative. Facebook, has it pros, but just like google, they want to know everything about you and target ads. FB has a privacy issue as well as other cons that was brought up at the Mark Zukerberg hearings. The one social media site that I now miss is the old MySpace (When Tom the creator still owned it) now, it is more useless than this site! All that being said, I admit, I need to do my part and be more active on here so that it will continue on. They just have such fun and interesting topics, and people don't have to believe in any of it as long as everyone respects everyone else's beliefs. Seems like everyone on here is very respectful and kind. |
