Falling leaves
Floating dancing
Through the air
On a breeze
So gracefully
Everywhere

Warm russet
Yellow, Orange, red
And green on the trees
A mighty Oak, Maple, Poplar, sweet Gum
Capturing that fragrance in a bottle
That is Autumn
If only

Ideas and inspiration---
Stores in anticipation
Getting ready for holiday decoration
During a short shopping spree
Black kitten lying in the midst
These foddershocks pumpkins and gourds
So nonchalant…..Oh what a funny scene

Boo I called your name
What a sight!
Perfect fit
Quietly
You sat
Those emerald eyes
Gazing back at me
Clear and bright

Mesmerizing
What a gorgeous cat
each visitor who came
Left smiling
with the mention of your name


On the sidewalk
Downtown
Barrels, old wagons
Wooden ladders
Children’s laughter
Festive chatter

While the sun is going down
Behind the clouds
Its rose hue
Dancing on the water
In reflection

People gathering
It’s Harvest time
Pumpkins---apple cider
The smell of cinnamon and warm apple pie

Bales of hay stacked against the wall
In an old barn loft
Long ago deserted
Painted signs
Colorful art decorations on display

As the days grow a little colder
Winter will soon be here
Wrapping a warm blanket around my shoulders
These sweet days I’m remembering
Harvest festivals…Parades and cheer

Lighting the lanterns
Dark clouds appearing---on the horizon
The wind begins again….as falling leaves swirl around our porch
There’s a storm coming in
Scarecrow in the garden stands waving-----welcoming Autumn friends.
