Did I see something?

(It's been a long time since I've posted anything on here, but it feels good to be back)

So, I normally don't tell many people about phenomenon I've experienced or have seen. One of the reasons being, hardly anyone will believe you, and it's not a common thing for me. Though recently I saw something that has brought my attention back into the whole paranormal thing. I know how some sites and videos work, so it's not hard to point out rubbish stories about these sort of topics.

Anyways, It was roughly 02:30 on the 8th or the 7th. I'm pretty sure it was the 8th. I was outside and it was dark. I was about to smoke ganja out of my pipe, but out of caution I looked around. to the left of where I was standing, there's a tree in my yard that stands behind my bedroom window. Keep in mind that I was still sober in the moment of what I saw.

In front of the tree appeared to what to be an apparition of what I think was a dead woman standing. I couldn't see the face very well, since part of it looked partially faded. Surprisingly, my initial thought was "oh well", since I didn't care to think much of it.

After smoking my pipe, I looked around again and noticed that apparition wasn't there. My reaction went from not caring to thinking, "What in the actual (enter explicit terms here)?!" I quickly went inside and tried to think of exactly what it was.

I currently live with my parents still and we're only the second owners of the house, since the house was built in 1996. A one floor home, nothing special, just a quiet neighborhood. Since we're only the second owners and I couldn't find any reports of there being any deaths on the property or tragedies related to the property, it just makes me wonder of what I saw that late night.

There weren't any storms or bad weather. I went outside an hour or two later and did a perimeter check (it's become a habit of mine even though I no longer work security), including going back into the backyard. The apparition of the dead woman wasn't there.

Is there anyone in the southern Indiana areas that happen to know of any incidents similar to this? The first two apparitions I've seen years ago were definitely intense, one of them actually being tied to my dad (him and I saw the same apparition of a different incident years apart, but the same thing). Anyways, the first two were different, but this is the first time I've seen something in a long time and am just confused about the whole situation.

I didn't hear any noises coming from the direction of the apparition. It has caused slight paranoia, but has left me puzzled if anything.

It didn't really change my life, it's just had me confused.
