I've been in a few similar situations. Sadly, I believe the only thing you can do is control how you react, and that's unfortunately about it. Once it passes then you can just feel free to do what you can for anyone who might need a bit of help. Hope everything turns out okay for you. Hope your Facebook friends will be okay |

Photos and videos coming from that area from storm chasers are not good... I find a couple things surprising, only 1 death reported the other being that some houses and buildings appear to be totally fine. Category 4 head on is pretty tough. |

Sincere good wishes for everyone affected by the hurricane. I live in East Texas. I put up a post on FB opening my home to any evacuees who need a place to stay. Pets welcome. No one has asked yet but many in this part of Texas opened their homes to those displaced by Katrina. I thought it was the least I could do. I can't imagine the terror people must be feeling, especially facing losing their fur kids. The offer still stands Do no if you know anyone who needs help. I have a spare room and plenty of space in my living room. Plenty of food. I live in Longview.  |

They need to put up new cell towers and repair electricity grid. That will fix the water and sewage. Everybody's uncle or brother can fix it way below insurance cost. Keep it thrifty and Recover |

So much hate being spread throughout the country , from both sides , but mainly from the Dems and libs . Either way this had to happen to balance out all the hate being generated by the people in the USA . Now you have this outpouring of love and compassion for the victims of Hurricane Harvey . May the mighty All aka almighty Father help all my brothers and sisters impacted by Hurricane Harvey . Amen . Hate has consequences .  |

What people are describing is 4 hours of 130 mph winds one direction, then a lull, then another 4 hours of 130 mph winds in the other direction. Lots of roof damage, complete and partial structure failures and interspersed here and there and apparently undamaged buildings. They talk about needing or purchasing gas, propane, bleach, water, and Bud Light. Posts are showing that HEB and Walmart are bringing in food trucks for locals. |

Glad you and your friends are ok, Donno. We are starting to feel the effects here with gas shortages ( I live about an hour away from Altaira). I've already had a few families from Rockport and Port A. come into our office to start looking at new homes to rebuild. I expect my next few months at work are going to be jam-packed with helping people get back into homes.  |

Continued Prayers Donno for all of Texas in the path of the storm, we've been watching closely & see so much devastation., but Texans are made of strong sturdy stuff., they are all resilient, my thoughts & Prayers for you and all affected as well as Louisiana, we've also been hearing about Hurricane Irma now a category 3 and is headed toward the Florida, Carolina coast, we're expecting rains & flooding in our area by the weekend., my heart goes out to all those affected from not only the hurricane but we're hearing that weather conditions seem to be primed for the tornadoes, too in addition to several other states---- God Bless....T/C  |

The power, sewer and water is back on in most of the town, spectrum cable is announcing to be back working next week. The fatigue has wore off. Now we worry about Florida |
