Hello USM,
Has anyone ever been to Devils Hole Cave near Niagra Falls? It is said to be haunted and a dangerous place.
Here is a little background on the place:
- Extends approximately 20 feet deep into the rock, about 3 miles below Niagra Falls and high above the whirling waters of Devil's Hole Rapids in the Niagara Gorge. A large boulder called Ambush Rock stands in front of the cave opening and was once thought to have completely covered the entrance.
- Indians referred to the Cave as "Abode of the Evil spirit" and avoided the area believing it to be the Home of the Devil.
- At one point the stream that passes through the ravine near the cave oce ran red with the blood of soldiers massacred by Indians in September of 1763. There are still today findings of bones and skulls of those who were massacred.
