In the USA we typically can say that we basically have an understanding of many religious beliefs. Most of us grow to adulthood in our families beliefs, but gain friends and aquintants that help us to understand other beliefs. I don't think we know what it is like to live in a country where there isn't such diversity of religious beliefs. I can say that I know very little about the Muslim faith or Islam. I find that sad because the radical factions within it seem to overshadow the mainstream ideals in the world's perception. Thank you Donno for sharing this information with us. It makes more sense now why there is such a huge problem with these refugees. |

I know plenty of wonderful Muslims. I have been invited to their homes for dinner, I work with them, I've gone to the cinema with them, etc. They have never tried to hurt me, convert me, or insult me. I can't say the same of many Christians I've met. The current issue with terrorism is a political and often times a cultural one. It is perpetrated by extremists. Every day, ordinary Muslim men, women, and children pose no threat to us. There are extremists from every walk of life. I would gladly open my arms to a refugee family if I were to have the money and resources to do so. in fact, I donated clothes to many refugee families as they arrived in the safety of Canada. There have not been many (to my knowledge) terrorist attacks in Canada perpetrated by Syrian refugees. Think about it. These are men, women, and children. These are elderly people and disabled people. These are people whose homes have been bombed and burned to rubble. They have no access to education or healthcare. They risk being murdered by terrorist groups. They risk being raped and tortured. These are MUSLIMS being attacked by EXTREMIST Muslims. No wonder they seek to escape. You would seek to escape as well if you had been born into the same circumstance. It's only by chance that you weren't born as a Syrian child. |

Date: 8/1/2017 7:37:00 PM From Authorid: 56297 Nor any Christian, we could argue. I get where you are coming from though, intent is not something you can test for. People can always lie. So it is risky, you're very right about that. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, Desert Lotus. |
Date: 8/1/2017 11:43:00 PM From Authorid: 60395 I agree with Tina. We actually had a muslim woman come speak at the shelter I work at so we would be able to better understand and take care of any muslim clients we may get. It was extremely informational and while I'm not religious myself I found it to seem like a lovely religion. I don't know the intentions of any stranger I may come across in my daily life, but I still walk out the front door. |
Date: 8/2/2017 7:45:00 AM From Authorid: 56297 Thank you, Bass Chick! I recently went to dinner with a Muslim coworker. Now, she knows that I'm converting to Judaism and we had a very respectful exchange of ideas. It was interesting to learn about each other's faiths! She actually mentioned that her best friend is Jewish and that she does not condone the actions of Muslim extremists. I think Islam is a very interesting faith to learn about and it has many similarities with the other Abrahamic religions (Judaism and Christianity). |

Date: 8/3/2017 11:52:00 PM From Authorid: 60395 Wonderful to hear, Tina! Muslim extremists are just that, extremists! People can take any religion and turn it into a way to hate other people. No reason to blame an entire religion for the actions of a few. (Same goes for white Christian men.) |
Date: 8/4/2017 3:48:00 PM From Authorid: 22721 Good point Bass chick I think several white Christian men were not that friendly to the Native Americans. Killing them because they wouldn't convert? That doesn't seem like love. |

Thank you all for your insights. I believe that on a personal level we should be kind and gracious when interfacing with American Muslims, Hindus and Nepalese etc., However on the 50,000 foot level our Gov. needs to be aware that we are in an asymmetrical war with radical Islam. Behind the scenes there are plots and plans to attack and reap vengeance on America. The CIA has trained enough of these radicals themselves and we should be as wary of them as we are native groups like the KKK. Luckily the FBI has them very well infiltrated and controlled. Globalists will stop at nothing and use anything they can to retain control of European and North American democracies. |

Date: 8/24/2017 3:39:00 PM From Authorid: 42945 It is their agenda to take over the world and its scary...thanks for the insight into what everything means and yes, I asked the same question the other day about why other Arab countries are not taking them in... |
