I am glad to hear that you are having a good time working for Walmart. Customer Service is a difficult and there are many times people are not very polite. However, you will get to know your regulars and a lot of great people as well. Turn those unhappy customers into happy ones who will want to continue coming back, because of the excellent service you provide to them. ![]() ![]() |

Try being a cashier at Toys R Us during the during December. People will listen silk me at times for things that I have no control over. I get what you mean there's only so much you can do, because corporate has the final say on how things are done. ![]() |

I can just imagine! I never worked retail but I did work as a waitress briefly during my undergrad years. It was terrible! I mean, you do have some good experiences and you meet really cool people along the way. But I would often get yelled at because the customer didn't like the taste of the food, or their food was too hot, or other things that were not under my control as a waitress. Hang in there! I'm glad you're enjoying your experience thus far. ![]() ![]() |

Glad you are learning much at your job. I was in retail for about 10 years and if it taught me anything in this life, it taught me patience. ![]() ![]() |

Thanks everyone, I've been working st Walmart since march when the old building closed and the new super center building opened. It's a ok job there was sometimes I'm like I should of called off and some time I feel like yelling at the costumors. Also I'm in California so every bag is 10cents and that's another pain. But thank you everyone let's see how long I can last lol. ![]() |

Oh, yes! Some people can be just awful! I worked in the food industry through college and had to deal with some downright nasty people. But there were really great ones too! I remember one older man who always called me Lisa (rather than Liz), so when he would call in an order he would ask for Lisa and new people told him there was no Lisa and would hang up. haha! It always worked out, he'd call back and I'd know to answer! Anyways, when I deal with a particularly friendly and/or efficient cashier, it really can change my mood (I HATE grocery shopping), so I do try to be patient with them. It's usually the customers in front of me that really miff me anyways. ![]() ![]() |

I completely understand where you're coming from. People feel entitled to yell at employees for things that aren't even their fault simply because they work there and "the customer is always right." Just last week, I had a man who left me in tears because he was screaming at me and being overly rude due to a glitch in our system I was trying to fix. And don't get me started about all the people who mistake my kindness for interest and proceed to hit on me while I'm just trying to do my job. It's gotten to the point that I now wear a fake wedding ring to work. ![]() |

You're a much stronger person than me!! The way people treat retail workers (especially at Walmart) is disgusting. ![]() |
