I actually had to read this 3 times but I do understand every word. I have kicked the fences but you get a cool cast for it. The crutches are cumbersome but great reminders of just letting what was done or said go. I have been hurting for years as I see that you have for the things people say and do to others specifically you, specifically me. It is time to learn as much as possible to let it go even if it means walking away or giving those who are offending the greatness of shunning them. Bonfires are great for ridding one of old episodes and memories as well as attacks we have both given and received. But honestly guilt is nothing to lightly say we deserve. It is a great way to turn ourselves to psychopaths. The I deserve going in the other direction of the scars or the things we long for become things we covet nd sometimes lose site that over time when put to the flame, they will also burn. Oh and the quiet time in the bottle whether figurative meaning shutting out the world, is so easy to long for. The other meaning of drowning sorrows is much to be regretted afterwards. As far as being glad to be alive, I am not sure how to accomplish that. I just know that it is a true shame to not. If you learn the trick to that, that's what you might be able to relate to us all with the greatest wisdom that is somewhat hard to find. Great poem and congrats on being poet of the week. |
