Since the election I have only said that I did not vote for either Trump or Clinton, but I have never told anyone who I actually voted for or why. I liked some of what Trump stood for, and I loved that he was not a career politician. With Clinton I could not get behind her at all. I didn’t like what she stood for, nor did I like her fake personality. I also never would have voted for Bernie Sanders.
So if I didn’t vote for Trump or Clinton, than whom did I vote for? Even McMullin is a right-leaning independent candidate. He is pro-military, he wanted to give smaller businesses a fighting chance, education reform (not in the way Obama, Clinton, or Sanders wanted), he wanted to get rid of Obamacare while replacing it with something new, he is also a constitutionalist which means he is for the second amendment, he is against illegal immigration (not immigration itself but those who come over and don’t do it lawfully), and there is so much more to him. He is also a former CIA operative, business professional, and the House GOP’s Chief Policy Director.
Many people I have talked to claimed they voted for either Trump or Clinton because their choice was the lesser of the two evils. I did not want to be like that. I wanted to vote for someone who I liked, and who I felt would be good for America. I do hope that people will start voting not based on the candidates gender or that they are the lesser of the two evils and they start voting for who they think would be good for their state/country.
