Once upon a time, there was a family who lived at the edge of an enchanted forest. Life had once been happy for the entire family. But after a year of a bad drought and the death of woodcutter’s first wife, the crops now longer grew. And with the father being a wood cutter, he could no longer make a living. Then one day, the father remarried

The woman smiled at her half sister.
“Yeah kidnap them, the son leaves a pebble trail behind them, so they wouldn’t get lost. And make your house a candy house, so they’ll be distracted.”
“Hmph, and what do I get in return?” the witch frowned.
“Child labor, or just eat them.”
“Hm, it has been sometime…you got a deal” the ugly witch nodded.

The next morning, Hansel and Gretel woke up in a house made entire of candy, and baked goods.
But rather them being distracted, they were suspicious.
“Must be our step mother….” Hansel frowned.
“She really is a bad mother” Gretel sighted.
That was when they noticed a nearby witch.
“Don’t be afraid children, I just…”
“Eat us” Hansel glared. “Well you can eat my socks!”
“Why you little…” the witch glared.
That was when Hansel took out a packet of matches.
“Come closer, and the house gets it.”
“You shouldn’t play with matches” the witch scolded.
“And you shouldn’t eat children” Hansel retorted. “And sugar burns.”
“D’oh!” the witch wailed, realizing her error. “I knew I should’ve used Lincon Logs!”
Hansel nodded.
“Ha, if you’ll kill me…”
Hansel lit, and dropped a mtach. As he and Gretel ran out, the witch screamed, as she was trapped when some marshmallows melted.

“Well, what do we do now? Even if we go back, she’ll still…” Gretel sighed.
“Hmph, I’m not letting her push me around…we’ll have to take her out.”
“But Hansel, this will go on our permanent record. And I wanna get into Harvard. And we might even get on Santa’s bad list.”
“Gretel, unless we do get rid of her, we won’t even make to show and tell on Monday. And Bart is supposed to bring his hamster.”
“Yeah, I guess. But what do we do?”
“Something…bartesque.”
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As the woodcutter fretted, the step mother smiled.
“Hmph, problem one, gone. Now I can get HBO, with two less mouth to feed. Not to mention she’s gone.”
That was when she saw…the ghost of her sister.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- “They escaped, and are coming for you” her half sister smiled, before turning into a pile of gray power, that a kitty used for relief.
“Hmph, they might be coming back. But they won’t make it…” the step mother frowned.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Heh, this will work Gretel” Hansel said “Plus we went back, and found all the money. No more poverty for us” he said, as both pulled a red wagon filled with gold coins.
That was when the step mother stepped out from the bushes, just as the ghost of Hansel and Gretel’s mother appeared.
“Mother…” the children said, as the as the family warmly embraced.
“Oh come on!” the step mother frowned. “I wanna watch Twilight!”
“Hmph, this’ll teach you to mess with my children.”
That was when the mother turned the witch into two plates of eggs and toast. As Hansel and Gretel ate the witch for breakfast, the mother smiled, as she became human.
After breakfast, the whole family was reunited, and never knew poverty again.
