Beauty sighed. Her father was doomed. The price of red rose.
“But if I go…”
The idea...he’d never consider it.
“If only I hadn’t asked for a rose…but then again the Beast was being pretty stingy and cheap. With his wealth, he can’t even share a rose.” Irked, it was time for her to set things right.
Looking out, she saw the horse had appeared.

The castle…just as her father had said. She had gotten lost, and it had appeared.
Peeved, she frowned. Might as well get this over with.
“Okay, cheapskate. I’m taking the place of my father. So stop hacking up hairballs, and let me in!”
Dismounting, the house casually walked off.
In awe she stared. True to the story, the gardens were breathtaking.
“Like he’d miss a rose…” she grumbled.

Dinner was good. But it was during dessert when there was knock.
“He said he never saw anyone besides the beast..”
“Come in.”
She stared as the Beast entered. He was defiantly an animal….one who dressed quite well. She wondered who his tailor was.
“You are Beauty, the one who asked for the red rose” he stated.
Standing up, she glared.
“And you are the one who who’s cheap.”
“I gave him shelter, and fed him…he stole a rose…”
“Okay, you fed him let him stay, which was nice. Yet for only stealing a rose…”
“He did steal…..”
“A rose. Not gold, or silver. Like you’d miss a rose. And you didn’t even give him a chance to work off his debt.”
He sighed.
“I..”
“Hmph, I’m here to take my father’s place. But don’t think for a second I trust you. Just how did you come to all of you luxury? How do I know you didn’t kill the person who originally owned this?”
“I have a headache” the beast said, leaving the room.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Time passed, and all they seemed to do was bicker. And insult one another.
Yet one day, he offered her the opportunity to visit her family.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Your family misses you, and you’ve paid the debt. And don’t come back.”
Beauty glared. If her presence made the Beast miserable, she had no intent to willingly leave. “I’m staying.”
“No, you’re making me miserable….” The beast groaned.
That was when she noted cockroach and screamed.
To her shock, the Beast killed the cockroach.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
She smiled. Since he’d killed that cockroach, she had seen him differently.
As they got to know one another, she was surprised to find that has quite a bit in common.
“Beauty, I’ve grown…will you marry me.”
Her jaw dropped at the two inch diamond on the ring.
“I love you Beauty, and hope you will give me the honor of becoming my wife.”
Beauty smiled. The idea of leaving…this palace was her home.
“I will.”
As they kissed, fireworks lit up the sky.
That was when she stared as the beast transformed to a prince, who was also an Ambercomb and Finch model who had gone missing five years ago.
“Thanks Beauty” he smiled.
All Beauty could do was stare at the perfection before her.
