First, I promise that I am not trying to hit you guys up for donations! The shelter that I work at is currently launching a campaign to spread awareness about domestic violence and sexual assault and the desperate need for funding since Illinois doesn't have a state budget. The amazingly talented photographer Donna Ferrato was the first photographer to document domestic violence in the 80s and 90s. With her help, along with several others, we created this campaign. While it will take you to a fundraising page, I'm just asking that you watch the video and consider what you can do to help your local shelters. Even if you don't have time to volunteer regularly, shelters are always in need of clothing, food, toilet paper, tampons, etc. Just saving the little shampoos and soaps from hotels can make a difference! I didn't know what to expect when I started posting about domestic violence but your response has made me even more sure that this is what I'm meant to do in life. Remember, YOU ARE UNBEATABLE.
