I would travel by train to each of the fifty states (Of course, I would have to travel on a ship to get to Hawaii.) and visit their main tourist attractions. I would make sure to visit Yellowstone National Park, Golden Gate Bridge, Mount Rushmore, The White House, Times Square (I would take a helicopter ride over New York City at night, if it's permitted.), The Rocky and Smoky Mountains, JUST to name a few of the stops. The countries I would visit outside the U.S. would be, U.K., Canada, Sweden, Ireland, Egypt, Japan, Australia, France and Germany. I would be like the little gnome you see in all those pictures, practically everywhere! |

I would go to Key Largo, where our sailboat is sitting now, take it out of the lagoon, and start sailing the Florida coast. Then, I would take it to the Caribbean and go island hopping. This has been a dream years in the making, and we are halfway there. |

For a very long time I have wanted to take an author's trip of Europe. I would start in England where I would visit Chartwell, the country home of Winston Churchill. Then, I'd gradually work my way around, seeing the spots where Charles Dickens lived, and some of the pubs mentioned by Boswell. Visit the Globe Theater of Shakespeare and watch a few plays. Then see the Wastwater Lake from Goodbye Mr. chips, and then the lake country where Wind in the Willows was written. I'd see the forests and seashores mentioned by Tennyson, Nottingham where Robin Hood lived, and then stay for the weekend at Baskerville Hall, where Sherlock Holmes wrote Hound of the Baskervilles!
In each European country I would visit the homes or haunts where famous writers produced their masterpieces. I think that would be a great experience. |
