America, please tell me why, that love we had lives here no more?
How and why did we forget, that our ancestors; immigrants?
How sad they'd be to see that we now treat them with maliciousness.
Forgetting this, we selfishly dictate boarders, outs and ins
Of land we stole by slaughtering peaceful, Native Indians.
Do we find pride in how we traded everything they had for fears?
Their fruited plains, their waves of grain, their mountains for a Trail of Tears?
From this blood red foundation we all claim to be the brave and free,
But freedom cannot coexist when implementing slavery.
Initially our institution's soul intent? To help all people.
Now? We've killed the constitution, no one here is treated equal.
How can we want to restore our land to what it as before?
Do we ignore the Civil War? Division deep within in our core.
We swore to not fight anymore, but neither side stopped keeping score.
North VS South, now Black VS White, you think this happened over night?
We could be one if we'd unite but no, we fight. Two wrongs, no right.
Dishonesty, hypocrisy, hate from sea to shining sea.
Responsible? Both you and me, for our failing democracy.
We must get back to when we looked with pride at waving stars and stripes.
We've twisted their perception into scars and sad stereotypes.
Our solution? Resolution. Retribution distribution.
An evolution contribution. Persecution's substitution.
If we need some sound advice; if our hate we can't release,
Look to who this land belonged before we came, they lived in peace.
They would implore us to restore respect for all that can endure.
To make our future something sure we all must love each other more.
