Hello, USM! It's that time again and boy, has it been a while!
Today I proudly present you a foundation that has become my holy grail of foundations. You may have seen in the past where I've mentioned that I have a very hard time finding a foundation that matches me due to my pallor. I am the kind of pale where I try a product recommended by a fellow pale person and that product is still too dark.
Well everybody, feast your eyes on this amazing foundation by the company Laikou! To be honest, I didn't have very high expectations for it when I bought it. Nothing personal against either the product or the company, it's just that with my track record of being disappointed by 99% of foundations I try, I figured this one would end up being another addition to the ever growing pile of foundations I can't use because they don't match. I still gave it a shot and I am so glad I did.
This particular product comes in three different shades. Where I purchased my bottle from, the shade was listed as 001 but I've also seen it listed as Ivory White elsewhere.
First let me say that the product doesn't feel heavy on the face. It feels a little heavy when you spurt some on your fingers, but when you apply it and blend it into your face, it feels like you're wearing nothing at all!
It passed the arm swatch test with flying colors (if you'll pardon the pun ;p), which I was both surprised and pleased about. I couldn't even tell where I blended it, that's how well it matched. Then I moved onto the face swatch test, which again passed with flying colors. This foundation has great medium coverage that can be built up to full, but lately I've been more into medium coverage because it looks a little more natural.
Below I've included a picture where I've applied the foundation to one side of my face and left the other bare. As you can see, it really makes a difference and hides a lot of the redness.
Wearing this product all day, I didn't experience any creasing or smearing, though I applied it a little thickly by mistake, so I had to be careful not to touch my face in order to prevent wiping off the product. I didn't experience this problem with lighter applications
All in all, I would say try this product out, especially if you're a paler than pale lady like myself. For only $6, you can't go wrong! :)
Oh! And I've found Laikou also makes green, purple, and pink primers to deal with skintone issues and I plan on getting each one to review in the future! >:D
